How this works (mechanics & data notes)

Breeding follows the documented Palworld 1.0 formula: the child is the ordinary-pool Pal whose CombiRank is closest to the rounded-up average of the parents’ ranks (ties broken by internal order). Fixed special combinations (164 in the 1.0 game files, plus a few community-documented classics) override the formula, and same-species parents always breed true. The Katress × Wixen pair is gender-dependent and can yield either child. Catch-only Pals (legendaries etc.) must be caught before they can be bred.

Data: 297 breedable Pals, CombiRank values and special combos from the public 1.0 game-files dataset at palworldonline.net (free to use, attribution appreciated) with community-documented additions. The game’s official Paldeck roster is 287 — the extra entries here are collaboration/event Pals that can still use the Breeding Farm. Always verify valuable chains in-game — patches can shift values.

Breeding Path Finder FAQ

What does the Palworld Breeding Path Finder do?

It finds the shortest valid breeding chain from the Pals you own to any target Pal in Palworld 1.0, showing every parent pair step by step.

How is the shortest breeding chain calculated?

The tool uses the documented Palworld 1.0 breeding formula. Special story combos are checked first, then the child is the Pal whose CombiRank is closest to the rounded-up average of the parents. It searches all possible pairs from your collection, including Pals bred along the way, and returns the chain with the fewest steps.

Why does the tool use 297 Pals when the Paldeck has 287?

The official Paldeck lists 287 Pals, but about 10 collaboration and event Pals have no Paldeck entry yet can still breed at the farm. All 297 farm-eligible Pals are included as potential parents.

Can I breed legendary Pals like Jetragon?

No. Catch-only Pals such as Jetragon, Frostallion, and Paladius cannot be produced by breeding. You must catch one first, after which it can be used as a parent.

What is the fastest way to breed Faleris?

Vanwyrm × Anubis produces Faleris directly as a special combo. If you own neither parent, use the tool above to find your shortest chain — for example, 5 breedings starting from Mossanda, Petallia, and Vanwyrm.

Is the breeding data accurate for Palworld 1.0?

Yes. CombiRank values and 164 special combos come from the public 1.0 game-files dataset, plus 7 community-documented classic combos. Game patches can shift values, so verify valuable chains in-game.
